Tomin J. Thachenkery could not be reinstated - Government

Kochi: The state government told the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) that Tomin J. Thachenkery, suspended Inspector General of Police could not be reinstated as an inquiry by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) against him was in progress.

Thachenkery has filed a case asking for his reinstatement before a three-member CAT.

Thachenkery was suspended in April since he did not take Government’s permission for a trip to the Middle East. In June Home Ministry ordered an inquiry by NIA on the allegation that Thachenkery had met people having suspected terror links during his visit to Doha.

The state government informed the CAT that since probe by NIA was in progress, Thachankery may try to influence once he was reinstated at this juncture.
