 New Delhi: Yes it is possible! You can have your gas cylinder delivered in your house at the time you desire.
The Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry on Tuesday launched, what is called the ‘Preferred Time LPG Delivery Scheme.
As per the scheme, the LPG cylinders would be delivered at the preferred time of the customers for a small premium. This will be a boon specially to the employed men and women. The scheme is optional.
The customers who do not want to pay a premium can have the cylinders delivered under the existing norms.
The customer would be charged Rs. 50 for delivery sought before 8 a.m. or between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on any day of the week in metro cities, and Rs. 25 for any time between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Customers in other cities and towns would be charged Rs. 40 and Rs. 20 respectively.
On weekends (Saturday/Sunday), Rs. 25 would be charged extra for deliveries sought between 8 a.m. and 6 pm in metro towns, and Rs. 20 in other cities.
The scheme would be extended to Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad later this month and the rest of the country would be covered by the end of this year. |
